Evelo Biosciences is a startup backed by Google Ventures that is researching therapies utilizing monoclonal microbials in the gut. The website is responsive and AODA compliant. The CMS is simplified to allow for quick updates, allowing the team to focus on their research.
When Evelo approached Jacknife Design, their website was built on SquareSpace. The project then fell into two phases. First, the site was redesigned in SquareSpace. Second, the site was rebuilt in WordPress and moved to their own server.
I updated the SquareSpace site to match the new branding while developing the WordPress theme that would eventually replace it. I deployed the new server and setup the staging and production environments.
I learned to deploy servers through Digital Ocean. This was directly from the ground up, installing and updating everything in the LAMP stack, ordering an SSL certificate and installing WordPress using the command line.
