Baker Real Estate focuses on marketing and pre-construction sales of condos. In 2014 and 2015 they launched two new sites with Union Creative. First for their agents, allowing them to submit sales and access information unavailable to the public. Second allowed potential buyers to review floor plans and estimated pricing.
We intended to connect users with their dream condo, or investment property by making the basics of buying a home accessible and easy to understand. Users could explore listings displayed in a map or tile format. Agents were moved off of a pen and paper system to submitting applications and accessing documents electronically.
I built the front end of both of the sites using the Django template language. The sites were fully responsive across all devices. The agent site included a user login and a form that breaks down the sales process step by step. The buyer site displays search results using the Google Maps API, giving users a picture of their potential new neighbourhood.
To make calls to the Google Maps API and customize the embedded maps. I gained a stronger understanding of Django, Python and sprite animation. I also had an opportunity to work with Unity 3D on a prototype that would allow users to view a unit from a first person perspective to better understand the size and layout.
